Job summary

Trinity Services Group is hiring a Cook for an on-site jail facility in Milwaukee. You will follow recipes, prep at the Daily Prep List, and work with a team to serve meals within a tight schedule. The role requires 1 year of cooking experience and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Salary starts at $18.00/hour with premium benefits, daily pay options, and a clear career path. You must be available 5:00AM–7:30PM, including some weekends/holidays, in a dynamic, safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of relevant cooking experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience in a cafeteria or large-volume production environment.
• Experience with safety procedures typical in a cafeteria or food service.

Responsibilities

• Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned tasks and complete opening and closing checklists daily.
• Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Must be comfortable using and operating ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
• Handle, store, label, and rotate all products following state laws.
• Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

About This Position

Must have open availability to work between: 5:00AM - 7:30PM (this includes some weekends and holidays)

The Cook prepares a variety of food items following assigned work instructions, menus and guidelines while following food safety and food handling procedures. The Cook also shows experience preparing hot and cold food items and all standardized knife cuts. You will exercise problem-solving skills to resolve issues that potentially arise. You will follow recipes, while managing their assigned station with team members to produce dishes promptly.

You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
• At least one (1) year of relevant cooking experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Prior experience cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility.
• Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment.
