Job summary

StoryPoint Middletown is seeking a part-time Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare meals for residents and guests, following planned menus and standard recipes.

Duties include plating with proper portions and garnishing, and assisting other kitchen staff as needed to ensure smooth service. The role requires at least a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of three years of line cook experience or training, plus good communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities for Cook

Cook and prepare food for residents guests and employeesPrepare food according to the planned menu using standard recipesPlate food items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructionsAssist other kitchen staff as needed Performs other duties as assigned by supervisorEnsures that sufficient food is prepped andor preparedCommunicates with supervisor of shortages or outages Ensures freshness cooking status and proper seasoning of all foods servedStocks and cleans station for next shiftFollows proper food rotation policiesConsistently maintains a positive attitude which supports a team environment Promotes positive public relations with residents family members and guestsKnowledgeable of the resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for privacy dignity and well being of all residents in a safe secure environmentMaintain safety including universal precautions and safe work practices established firesafetydisaster plans risk management sanitation and security Clean and inspect kitchen appliances and work areas in order to ensure cleanliness and functional operationPresent professional appearance by wearing uniform and name tag

General Working Conditions
