Job summary

Life Care Centers of America kitchen team in Michigan City prepares and serves meals to patients, following all regulations and company standards. The Cook works with dietary orders, supports meal service, and maintains sanitation and safety practices.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred one year in large quantity food prep. You will participate in team planning and ensure meals meet taste, appearance, and nutrition requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing and cooking food in large quantities.
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Knowledgeable of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility.
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.

• Ensure food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.

• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
