Job summary

Care Initiatives in Iowa is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our team across 40+ skilled nursing communities. You will contribute to menu planning, prepare meals, and ensure nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented dishes that meet dietary requirements and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantity food preparation and service.
• Willingness to complete training in Food Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets.
• Experience in a healthcare dietary setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, bringing creativity and personal flair while meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
• Prepare and serve meals that create an enjoyable, dignified dining experience and support residents’ comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
• Develop positive, respectful relationships with residents by engaging with them and incorporating feedback into meal service whenever possible.
