Job summary

Rite of Passage at the Mansfield Juvenile Treatment Center is seeking a Cook to prepare healthy meals for youth and staff in a secure, supportive setting. Training is provided, with potential for above-entry starting points for ServSafe-certified or experienced applicants.

We offer medical/dental/vision and company-paid life insurance within 90 days, 401k match after 1 year, and PTO accrual. Schedule includes full-time and part-time options with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 21 years old.
• Pass criminal background, drug, physical, and TB tests.
• Pass child/adult abuse registry checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare healthy meals for youth and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of kitchen and dining area.
• Be an active team player within the department.
• Training provided; prior related experience and/or ServSafe certification may allow starting above entry-level.
• Schedule includes full-time and part-time roles with rotating weekends off.

Mansfield Juvenile Treatment Center (MJTC) is a 40-bed, all-boys program located on 236 acres at the foot of the stunning Poteau Mountains, offering breathtaking lakeview sunsets and fresh mountain air. Pay: $16.00 per hour based on education and experience.

What you will do: As a Cook, you will ensure that healthy and tasty food is prepared and served to the youth and staff on-site, help maintain the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen and dining area, as well as being an active team player within the department. Training will be provided, however if you have related experience and/or ServSafe certification, you may be eligible to start above entry-level.

To be considered you should: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent ~ Be at least 21 years of age ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test ~ Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry.
