Seeking a Per Diem Cook.
Summary:
The primary role of the Cook is to prepare food for the facility residents at scheduled meal times while following appropriate sanitation procedures and therapeutic diets. Dietary aide responsibilities also required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares hot and cold foods, meals and beverages including modified textures for restricted and therapeutic diets.
- Maintains and follows all meal schedules.
- Assures all food items are handled properly to insure safety and sanitation standards according to state and federal regulations.
- Properly stores, covers, and refrigerates necessary items. Insures that foods are cooked to the appropriate temperatures according to latest FDA Food Code.
- Must perform all assigned tasks in accordance with the Facility’s established policies and procedures and as instructed by Department Head.
- Complies with local, state and federal regulations relating to their responsibilities, including the Code of Conduct, Resident Rights and Corporate Compliance; serves as a mandatory reporter of all resident related incidents
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare large portions of meals.
- Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of positive team work
- Serves as a role model to peers through initiative, self direction and enthusiasm; must exhibit patience, tact and a cheerful disposition; as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents
- Ability to maintain a satisfactory attendance and work performance record; must punctually arrive to work as assigned
- Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing, required.
