Job summary

Spring Mountain Treatment Center in Las Vegas, NV seeks a PRN Dietary Cook to prepare, season and cook meals for patients, staff and visitors in an inpatient setting, following menus and diet specifications.

You will maintain sanitary cooking areas, assist on the line, serve meals, and support daily operations under supervision, with new employee orientation and safety policy adherence. The role supports hospital dietary services and requires flexibility for PRN shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Food Handler's Card.
• Minimum two years’ experience in the kitchen, in a psychiatric/patient care setting preferred.
• Must consistently maintain a safe and clean working environment, following both Spring Mountain and the State Of Nevada Policy and Procedures.
• Ability to assess food and supply items relative to daily scheduled menus, as well as, for special events and/or activities.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
• New hires are required to attend 1 full week of New Employee Orientation on day shift, normally 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
• Must successfully pass background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check) and drug screen.

• Maintains cooking area in a clean, neat and orderly manner.
• Provides assistance on the line such as tray set-up, salad preparation, etc.
• Serves meals in pleasant manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Spring Mountain Treatment Center is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a PRN Dietary Cook. Under the supervision of the Manager of Dietary Services, prepares, seasons, and cooks food for the hospital patients, employees, and visitors. As our Cook, you must remember that meals are three of our patients' most important time of the day; cooks will prepare and serve food in accordance with menus, diet specifications, and sanitary practices. Presentation and customer service skills are key.
