Job summary

American Senior Communities in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Cook for full-time day shifts and part-time roles to join our culinary team. You will prepare meals meeting residents’ nutritional needs, follow recipes, and lead kitchen tasks while upholding sanitation and safety standards.

Responsibilities include preparing meals in appropriate quantities, managing trays and storage, and maintaining a clean work area. Prior institutional or healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Required: High school diploma or GED; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling.
  • Preferred: Prior Institutional and/or Healthcare service experience.

  • Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies, and prepares food in accordance with departmental procedures and in compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Preferred: Prior Institutional and/or Healthcare service experience.
