Job summary

Grace of Kimball Township LLC in Michigan is seeking a skilled Cook to deliver high-quality dining for approximately 80 residents. You will support the Executive Chef by preparing entrees, soups, desserts and other menu items using scratch-cooking techniques and thoughtful presentation.

The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, able to multitask in a busy kitchen, and committed to resident satisfaction and our reputation as a strong culinary team. Day shift availability preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience cooking in a scratch kitchen
• Ability to work in a team
• Good communication, teamwork, organization and multitasking skills
• Good physical condition and stamina for a full kitchen shift

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in scratch cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
• Plate presentations with fine dining techniques
• Communicate directly with residents to receive feedback on the prepared meals
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check the quality of ingredients
• May perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef

This role supports the Executive Chef by preparing entrees, soups, desserts and other menu items using sound culinary techniques, scratch-cooking preparation, efficient production, and thoughtful presentation. The idea; candidate is organized, safety-focused, comfortable multitasking in a busy kitchen, and committed to enhancing both resident satisfaction and our reputation as a strong culinary team.

• With a high-risk population, safety and sanitation are a priority
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in scratch cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
• Plate presentations with fine dining techniques
• Communicate directly with residents to receive feedback on the prepared meals
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check the quality of ingredients

Required Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience cooking in a scratch kitchen
