Job summary

AVIR Health Group is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our family. The role prepares and cooks high-quality foods for regular and modified diets, serving residents, guests, and employees, while adhering to state health rules and our facility standards. If you are team-oriented and care about residents, this is the opportunity for you.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility preferred.
• Nursing home experience preferred.
• Previous office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.
• Prepare simple food regimes and basic modified diets regarding individual resident nutritional needs.
• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.
• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.
• Prepare and cook food in batches, maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.

Skills

The purpose of this role is to prepare and cook high-quality foods for all regular and modified diets, serving residents, guests, and employees. Ensure all preparation and cooking strictly adheres to State Department of Health Rules and Regulations and established facility standards.
