Job description

As a Cook, you play a key role in delivering a consistent, high-quality dining experience for our guests. Your attention to detail, commitment to food safety, and passion for culinary excellence are evident in every dish you prepare. You will work closely with the kitchen team to execute recipes accurately, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and uphold food presentation standards. Your focus will be on optimizing each guest’s experience by living out our company purpose: “hospitality from our family to yours.”

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up and stock workstations with ingredients, tools, and equipment required for daily meal preparation.
  • Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, proteins, and sauces according to recipes and portion guidelines.
  • Cook menu items using a variety of techniques including grilling, sautéing, baking, frying, and roasting.
    Monitor food during cooking and adjust temperature, seasoning, or timing as needed to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Plate and garnish dishes in accordance with presentation standards before service.
  • Ensure food is cooked to proper internal temperatures and meets food safety requirements.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly (e.g., ovens, fryers,slicers, mixers).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning utensils, and following sanitation guidelines.
  • Follow all food storage procedures, including proper labeling, dating, and rotation (FIFO).
  • Maintain daily logs for temperatures, waste, and cleaning tasks.
  • Receive, inspect, and store deliveries; ensure food and supplies meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Assist in managing food and supply inventory; notify supervisor when items need to be restocked or ordered.
  • Participate in daily kitchen breakdown and cleaning procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation policies.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house or other departments as needed to support smooth service.
  • Follow all hotel policies and procedures, including reporting lost and found items, accidents, or unsafe work conditions.
  • Complete required safety trainings and certifications
  • Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet evolving business demands.
Job Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working in a kitchen, restaurant, or food preparation environment preferred.
  • Must be team-oriented, dependable, and able to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience using kitchen equipment, including cutting tools, ovens, grills, fryers, and mixers.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and methods, such as sautéing, baking, roasting, boiling, and grilling.
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes, portion guidelines, and plating standards.
  • Understanding of and commitment to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a physically active environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
  • ServSafe certification preferred; training provided if not already certified.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stretching, twisting, reaching, and use of hands and arms throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to work on foot for prolonged periods, often in confined or fast-moving kitchen spaces.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including handling knives, kitchen tools, and small equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Exposure to a variety of environmental conditions including hot surfaces, open flames, cold storage areas, and high noise levels.
  • Requires close attention to detail to ensure food quality, safety, and consistency.
