Job summary

Dial Senior Living in Elkhorn, NE is seeking a Dining Room Server to join our team. This full-time role involves serving meals, taking orders, and assisting residents throughout the dining experience.

You will set tables, provide beverage service, and ensure residents receive prompt, friendly care. Prior experience is helpful; willingness to learn and work with seniors is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 or older.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Promote teamwork and a customer-focused attitude.
• Experience with basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn.
• Able to stand/walk for 3–3.75 hours per shift.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents meals, take orders, and assist residents throughout all aspects of the dining experience.
• Take all orders and close out orders within the Dial designated point of sale system.
• Provide customer service to residents to ensure high level of satisfaction while serving meals.
• Set tables for upcoming meals and reset for the following meal.
• Inform residents what foods are available on the day’s menu.
• Address residents by name and their food/beverage likes and dislikes.
• Prepare beverages before meals and serve beverages of choice to each resident.
• Keep water glasses and coffee cups filled.
• Clear tables, and bus tables after meals.
• Vacuum carpet in the dining room after each meal.
• Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents and operations.
• Report injuries to supervisor before end of shift.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Overview

The position will assist with serving meals and beverages, bussing tables and cleaning the dining area.

• Serve residents meals, take orders, and assist residents throughout all aspects of the dining experience.
• Take all orders and close out orders within the Dial designated point of sale system.
• Provide customer service to residents to allow high level of resident satisfaction while serving meals.
• Set tables for upcoming meals and reset for the following meal.

• Keep water glasses and coffee cups and/or carafes filled.
• Clear tables, as needed, throughout meal and bus tables after the meal is finished.
• Vacuum carpet in the dining room after each meal.
• Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel.
• Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.

Education, Experience and Other Requirements

• Must be age 16 or older

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language

• Patience and a customer-focused attitude.
• Operation of basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn.
• Working 3-3.75 hours per shift standing, walking, and moving about without the need to sit down
