Job summary

Avir Health Group seeks a Dietary Cook to join our family-oriented facility. The role focuses on preparing meals that meet residents' nutritional needs while maintaining kitchen operations in a safe, compliant environment. You will use various cooking equipment, adjust recipes for portions, and supervise meal service with a small team.

Responsibilities

• Test recipes and recommend changes to improve quality.
• Prepare and cook food in batches maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Direct activities of one or more workers in meal prep and service.

The primary purpose of your job position is to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Major Responsibilities:

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.

• Prepare simple food regimes and basic modified diets regarding individual resident nutritional needs.

• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.

• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.

• Prepare and cook food in batches, maintaining high quality and appeal.

• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Foodhandlers

• Previous office experience preferred.

• Previous Nursing Home experience preferred.

• Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility preferred.
