Job summary

The Terraces of Boise, a HumanGood community, located in Boise, ID, is seeking a full-time cook for 10:30AM–7:30PM to support Residential Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support and Health Center Dining Room. Pay ranges from $20–$23 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities include food prep, multi-diet cooking, and operating kitchen equipment while maintaining safety and sanitation standards. Prior skilled nursing kitchen experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Skilled nursing or retirement community cooking experience (Required).
• Experience with dietary restrictions and modified diets (Required).
• Scratch cooking experience (Preferred).
• Fine dining and/or Country Club cooking experience (Preferred).
• Culinary education (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepares food including washing, trimming, cutting, portioning, measuring, mixing, and panning.
• Cooks food using baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, boiling, and pressure cooking.
• Operates and cleans all food prep equipment (grills, ovens, steamer tables, mixers, etc.).
• Complies with all food prep standards and health and safety requirements.
• Maintains sanitary handling, transportation, and storage of food.

The Terraces of Boise in Boise, ID, a HumanGood community nationally rated as 2025-2026 Best Senior Living community for Assisted Living, Independent Living and Memory Care by U.S News & World Report, is looking for talented line cooks to join our team!

Under general supervision, the Cook primary objective is the preparation of food items to ensure high standard of quality and quantity to meet the needs of the residents for the Residential Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support, and Health Center Dining Room. The Cook handles food in accordance with sanitary standards and recognized food preparation standards.

Full-Time, 10:30AM - 7:30PM Cook

Pay range: $20-23 per hour, base pay, depending on years of experience

Work Duties

• Prepares food, including but not limited to: washing, trimming, cutting, portioning, measuring, mixing, and panning;
• Cooks food including: baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, boiling, and pressure cooking;
• Operates and cleans all food preparation equipment, including but not limited to: grills, broilers, ovens, steamer tables, mixers, microwave ovens, toasters, etc.;
• Complies with all food preparation standards and health and safety requirements;
• Maintains sanitary standards for the handling, transportation, and storage of food;

To be successful in the role, you would have:

• Skilled nursing or retirement community cooking experience (Required)
• Experience with dietary restrictions and modified diets (Required)
• Scratch cooking experience (Preferred)
