Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn Seattle Bellevue Downtown in Bellevue, WA seeks a Cook to craft high-quality meals and contribute to memorable guest experiences. You will plan, prepare and plate dishes, manage portions, and respond to guest requests while ensuring safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced hotel kitchen.

The role requires prior food handling experience, a Food Handler’s Permit, and the ability to stand for long shifts. Flexible scheduling is expected.

Qualifications

• Previous food handling or prep/line experience is required.
• Must be able to read, write, type and use basic technology.
• Must obtain a Food Handler’s Permit.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare various food items and meals for the restaurant and catered functions.
• Oversee food cost and portion control without sacrificing quality.
• Creatively accommodate special requests from guests.
• Ensure food deliveries are timely, accurate and meet presentation standards.
• Assist with quality, cleanliness and organization of the restaurant and kitchen.
• Assist with inventory, ordering and receiving of all food and beverage items.
• Maintain and enforce sanitation and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen area.
• Support the goals of the hotel through teamwork and collaboration with all departments.

Qualifications

Previous food handling or prep/line experience is required. Some locations may require prior cook experience. To be successful in this role, you need strong verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to read, write, type and use basic technology. This job requires you to stand and move around for an entire shift and you also must be able to lift at least 25 pounds. You must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Permit. Applicants must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work morning, evening and weekend shifts.

For Employees Based in Colorado:

• 8 paid holidays per year; employees working in the City of Denver receive 64 hours of designated holiday time per calendar year

• 6 days or 48 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year, accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

For Employees Based in California:

• 8 paid holidays per year
• Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service, capped at 1.5x annual accrual rate; non-supervisory employees working in the City of Los Angeles accrue up to 22 days of Compensated Time Off, based on length of service capped at 192 hours of combined PST and CTO.
• Paid Sick Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, unused time is carried over from one anniversary year to the next up to a maximum of 80 hours; employees working in the City of Los Angeles are provided 40 hours of Paid Sick Time annually on their anniversary, unused time is not carried over from one anniversary year to the next.
