Job summary

The Grove of Fox Valley is seeking a part-time Cook to join our post-acute care team in Aurora, IL. You will prepare meals for residents, ensuring adherence to dietary requirements and high-quality standards in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining food safety, recording temperatures, and following recipes for large-volume service. Weekend shifts and opportunities for growth are available as part of a busy, patient-centered facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10th grade education required.
• Prior skilled nursing foodservice experience preferred.
• Ability to prepare meals and ensure dietary compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for residents following dietary needs and recipes.
• Ensure food safety by recording temperatures and maintaining clean equipment.
• Serve residents and monitor portion quality to deliver a pleasant dining experience.
• Follow standardized recipes for large-volume meals and maintain proper food handling.

As a Cook you will provide residents with one of their favorite parts of the day! Your work ensure our residents receive the high standard of food quality they have grown to expect at The Grove Fox Valley by preparing and ensuring residents receive the appropriate food items for each meal in accordance to their dietary needs, ensuring the safety of food and equipment by recording temperatures, and following recipes for preparing large volumes of food. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they receive a pleasant and safe dining experience.

As a minimum, a tenth (10th) grade education. Prior Skilled Nursing Foodservice experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
