Job summary

Select Medical in Davenport, IA is seeking a Chief Operating Officer for the Select Specialty Hospital Quad Cities. This Administrator In-Training role offers hands-on operational leadership in a critical illness recovery hospital setting, with full-time scheduling and relocation opportunities as needed.

You will partner with the CEO to drive patient care quality, implement clinical-quality initiatives, and lead department strategies while upholding compliance and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Minimum 3 years managerial experience in a healthcare institution.
• Experience with finance, strategic planning, and community health education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under CEO direction, COO oversees administrative direction, evaluation and coordination of departments to meet operating objectives.
• Conducts daily rounds on the nursing floor, communicates with patients, families, staff and MDs, and collaborates with CNO on program development.
• Plans and assists in corrective actions related to internal and external surveys.
• Focuses on employee engagement; leads orientation and quarterly meetings, including night shift sessions.
• Creates and manages a culture focused on business development and customer service.
• Communicates policy recommendations to CEO and implements new policies following directives.
• Works with CEO to manage annual operating and capital budgets and strategic plans.
• Maintains high ethical standards and compliance with HIPAA and professional guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
