Kinder Morgan Inc. is seeking a on-site technician to support installation, maintenance and repair of conveyors, tanks, pumps, air compressors and related equipment at our Texas facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently assist with installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of equipment including conveyors, tanks, pumps, and air compressors.
  • Troubleshoot conveyors, environmental control equipment and heavy machinery; perform minor repairs as needed.
  • Complete documentation and recordkeeping; daily computer use for communications, training, maintenance tracking and inventory.
  • Comply with Company Safety Rules and attend required training.
  • Coordinate with Operations to minimize operational impacts.
  • Conduct periodic visual inspections of conveyors and equipment.
  • Complete required reports and notes by handwritten entry or electronically.
  • Recognize limits of third-party work on Company property to protect assets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For
  • Well-developed communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with all levels of management.
  • Must be willing to work overtime with little or no notice during the week, weekends, holidays, etc as dictated by operations.
  • In order to perform the essential duties, regular work attendance is required.
  • Must be willing and able to work as a part of team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedules, focus attention to details, and follow work rules.
What You Will Do
  • Safely and efficiently assist with the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment to include conveyors, tanks, pumps, air compressors, etc.
  • Perform troubleshooting activities to evaluate (and conduct minor repairs) on dry bulk conveyor equipment, environmental control equipment such as baghouse/dust collectors, and heavy equipment such as track mobiles, front end loaders, company trucks and telehandlers.
  • Perform maintenance and service duties including completion of documentation and recordkeeping. Daily use of computers for communications, training, maintenance tracking and inventory purposes.
  • Compliance with all Company Safety Rules and Regulations while performing all duties, and attendance to all assigned training courses for operations and safety.
  • Coordinate with Operations as needed to minimize operational impacts.
  • Perform periodic visual inspections of conveyors and equipment.
  • Complete required reports and notes activity by handwritten entry into a daily log, or electronically.
  • Recognize the scope of work performed by third parties and the limits of what third parties may and may not do on Company property to protect Company assets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need
  • Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
  • Must pass and complete Safety training/certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan at all locations.
  • Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones; such as background checks by both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
  • The successful candidate must pass a written and hands-on assessment to be considered for the position.
  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
