Job summary

UPS in Dallas is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Electrician to support the package sorting system, including belt conveyors. The role combines mechanical and electrical maintenance to keep facilities operating efficiently.

You will diagnose, repair, and replace components, perform preventive maintenance, and work a shift that is likely third. Strong mechanical aptitude and schematics knowledge are essential; conveyor experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have strong mechanical aptitude with good problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in safe use of common shop tools and equipment.
• Experience in maintenance on conveyors is a plus; knowledge of electrical schematics is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, or replace mechanical components (motors, belts, bearings, rollers).
• Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC electrical equipment (batteries, control stations, fuses, relays, PLCs).
• Service pneumatic equipment (compressors, hoses, coils) and hydraulic components (hoses, cylinders).
• Weld handrails and conveyor supports; perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Complete required testing and maintain good interpersonal communication.
