Job summary

Atlas Sand, headquartered in Austin with operations in West Texas, seeks a Conveyor Manager to oversee the build and startup of a one-of-a-kind overland conveyor. You will lead construction, commissioning, and startup, build maintenance, and coordinate with executives to meet financial goals.

The role requires extensive conveyor experience (7+ years), leadership, and strong project management, with emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance and schedule adherence. Position is based in West Texas.

Qualifications

• Strong technical and leadership experience.
• Ability to read, understand and redline drawings and schematics.
• Procurement and warehouse experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Power Point.
• Extensive experience operating and maintaining conveyor systems, minimum of 7 years.
• Solid experience managing fixed and mobile equipment maintenance crews.
• Experience with operating and maintaining long overland conveyors.
• Experience overseeing engineering designs and managing 3 rd party engineering firms.
• Experience developing and tracking budgets.
• Experience in equipment reliability and condition monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Build the Maintenance, Operations and support departments.
• Manage project progress reports, schedules, risks, costs, logistics, resources and technical objectives.
• Participate in scheduled updates with Executive Team and stakeholders.
• Organize maintainability and constructability reviews with major stakeholders before execution.
• Project management ensuring compliance with OSHA and MSHA regulations.
• Coordinate multiple engineering design/supply organizations.
• Ensure permits are in place in compliance with local regulations.
• Lead engineering planning and structures for project development and construction.
• Negotiate with vendors for equipment, materials and services and resolve issues.
• Manage earthworks, concrete, steel erection, piping, electrical, instrumentation and startup.
• Track plant reliability and implement improvements to optimize availability.
• Execute and monitor the project to meet performance objectives.

Atlas Sand is in search of a Conveyor Manager to oversee the build and startup of one of a kind overland conveyor in West Texas. The Conveyor Manager will drive the build, commissioning and maintenance of this new transport delivery system. This opportunity is a rare chance to create from the ground floor. This role is multifaceted, high impact and imperative to the success of Atlas Sand.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction, commissioning, and startup of overland conveyors
• Review the designs for new conveyor construction to make sure it is built in a maintainable fashion
• Build the Maintenance, Operations and support departments
• Manage project progress reports, schedules, risks, costs, logistics, resources and technical objectives required to meet stakeholder’s expectations and corporate financial goals
• Participate in scheduled updates with Executive Team and stakeholders
• Organize and conduct maintainability and constructability reviews with all major stakeholders prior to project execution
• Project management ensuring projects are executed in full compliance with all regulatory requirements of the OSHA and MSHA
• Coordinate multiple engineering design/supply organizations
• Ensure construction permits are in place in compliance with local regulations
• Lead the development and implementation of short, mid, and long-term engineering planning and structures in support of project development and construction activities.
• Participate in negotiations with vendors and contractors for purchases of equipment, material and supplies, services and rental of equipment, and resolve budget, schedule and quality issues
• Manage all efforts related but not limited to earthworks, concrete and structural works, steel erection, piping, electrical distribution, instrumentation and DCS, equipment installation, commissioning and startup
• Track plant reliability and carry out improvements to optimize equipment availability
• Execution and monitoring of the project to performance objectives
