Responsibilities
  • Set up the print and die‑cut sections in accordance with proper setup techniques.
  • Ensure all bolts on cutting dies are in place and tightly secured.
  • Inspect anilox rolls for damage before and after each project run.
  • Inspect all dies before and after each run to ensure necessary repairs are made before the next run.
  • Monitor box quality, including delamination, warp, correct size, and print.
  • Maximize utilization of equipment by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
Qualifications
  • Education and experience: High school diploma or GED paired with extensive converting equipment experience in the corrugated industry.
  • Language skills: Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters and interpret engineering specifications.
  • Mathematical skills: Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy; calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, decimals, measurements, volume, and rate; apply concepts of high school math.
  • Reasoning ability: Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or graphic form; handle complex problems involving one or more concrete variables; accept responsibility for self and team actions; display assertiveness, optimism, resilience, and adaptability.
  • Technical skills: Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities, product layouts, engineering specifications, product quality specifications, and quality standards.
Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; wet and/or humid conditions; occasional exposure to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. Noise level is usually very loud.
