Job summary

Paylocity seeks an experienced manufacturing operator to set up and operate machinery in the Manufacturing Department with minimal supervision. You will inspect materials and in-process work, complete related paperwork, and lead the manufacturing team by example in work quality and reliability.

The role requires reading drawings, operating multiple machines, and maintaining 5S in the work area. You will collaborate with other departments as needed and may handle shift responsibilities including

JOB SUMMARY

This employee is responsible to set up and operate machinery in the Manufacturing Department with minimal supervision according to applicable drawings; must inspect the quality of the materials and work in process as well as accurately complete associated paperwork; must lead the employees of the manufacturing area by example in the areas of attitude, work quality, work ethic, dependability, and company loyalty.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Primarily responsible for set-up, run, cleaning and general maintenance of various machines.
2. Verify through work orders that job processes, and drawings are correct before production runs.
3. Set up machines according to applicable drawings within the define setup times.
4. Inspect the quality of the materials and work in process. Specifically focusing on quality standard by checking registration and for debris and print quality.
5. Troubleshoots and resolves machine related issues including tension, pressure, settings.
6. Accurately process and handle associated paperwork as required for the work being completed.
7. Complete work in a timely manner according to departmental schedules.
8. Operate multiple machines fluently with a minimal amount of supervision.
9. Lead the employees of the manufacturing area by example in the areas of attitude, work quality, work ethic, dependability, and company loyalty.
10. Communicate and work together with other departments as required.
11. Maintain and improve 5S within the work area.
12. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

AUTHORITY

1. Alert management of problems with materials, tools, fixtures, machinery, etc.
2. Request necessary supplies and resources required to complete the jobs assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Mechanical aptitude
2. Experience using measuring devices including rulers, comparators, calipers and gauges to collect and record data.
3. Must be able to communicate in English: read, write and understand.
4. Able to work smart and at a brisk and safe pace.
5. Able to communicate and work with others as a team.
6. Able to read and understand assembly drawings and build product accordingly.
7. Able to adjust and adapt when obstacles present themselves.
8. Strong attention to details.
9. Able to recognize quality problems with materials and work in process.
10. Able to use required tools, fixtures, rulers, etc. involved in the assembly process.
11. Ability to lead and influence others by example in the areas of attitude, work quality, work ethic, dependability, and company loyalty.

13. Good work attendance and dependability.
14. Must be able to pass the Operator Assessment test, FORM 2660.
15. If working nights or shifts with minimal supervision, must pass a criminal background check.
