Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East seeks a Manual/Conventional Machinist to manufacture parts to exact specifications. The role requires operating lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders, and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.

You'll measure components with precision instruments, set up equipment, adjust feeds and speeds, and troubleshoot machines. Welding of soft metals is a plus, and familiarity with fixtures and tooling is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual machine tools and reading blueprints.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and engineering information.
• Strong measuring and inspection using precision instruments.

Responsibilities

• Make parts to specifications using a lathe, milling machine, shaper, and grinder.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments.
• Set up, adjust, and operate specialized and advanced machine tools.
• Align and secure machine holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine the sequence of methods and operations necessary to fabricate products.
• Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to display the placement of cuts.
• Observe operating machines/equipment to diagnose malfunctions and adjust or repair.
• Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment. Dismantle machines/equipment.
• Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
• Fit and assemble parts to make or repair tool machines.
• Set up and operate metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, and cutting equipment.
• Experience welding soft metals, such as aluminum and magnesium, is a BIG plus.
