Job summary

SpartanNash in Gaylord, Michigan is seeking a part-time Convenience Store Clerk to stock shelves, run the register, and engage customers with friendly service. You will handle transactions, assist with store programs, and help maintain a clean, safe shopping environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and prior retail experience is advantageous. Good communication and organization are essential for serving guests and supporting store operations.

Responsibilities

• Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, bottle refunds, voids and coupons accurately.
• Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking products in required areas of the store.
• Run the cash register, perform suggestive selling and enroll guests in the loyalty program.
• Ensure proper use of PLU codes; report pricing or signage errors.
• Maintain understanding of store programs and product locations; communicate programs to customers.
• Comply with policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of restricted items.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department and exterior grounds; follow safety and sanitation procedures.
• May assist with stocking items on sales floor, cooler, and back room; follow PPE guidelines.

Apply now!**Location:**835 West Main Street - Gaylord, Michigan 49734**Position Summary:**This role is responsible to work independently to display and stock products; to ensure that you contribute to the financial best interest of the store. Additionally, this role is responsible for meeting company guidelines for guest experience, as well as complying with company guidelines for safety and food safety.**Here’s what you’ll do:*** Process financial transactions including, but not limited to; cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, bottle refunds, voids, and coupons accurately and in accordance with company policy.* Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking products in required areas of the store.* Responsible for front-end duties such as running the cash register, suggestive selling (lottery, etc.), enrolling guests in loyalty program, maintaining a clean and neat service area.* Ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLU's; report errors in pricing or signage.* Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations.
