Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Contract Controls Technician in Georgetown, KY. You will review equipment specifications, install and validate equipment, and drive improvements. The role requires hands-on PLC work, vendor coordination, and travel up to 50% to support project needs.

You will troubleshoot PLC controllers (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi), read electrical diagrams, and mentor maintenance staff on new systems. The position is fully onsite with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of industrial robot programming and teaching.
• Experience with AGVs/AMRs programming and setup.
• Familiarity with safety scanners and programming.
• Understanding of EthernetIP, PROFINET/ProfiNet networking.

Responsibilities

• Review equipment specifications and design to identify potential improvements.
• Conduct vendor buyoffs to confirm equipment functions meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Install equipment and verify its safety, quality, and productivity.
• Investigate and determine requirements for equipment modifications and implement them.
• Oversee installation by vendors and facilitate the kanban process.
• Improve equipment quality and productivity by implementing adjustments from trials.
• Trade-offs and calculate readiness using torque checks and vacuum profiles.
• Install, set up, and troubleshoot PLC and Allen-Bradley program controllers.
• Provide training to maintenance team members on newly implemented equipment.
• Share subject matter expertise with local NAMC maintenance and production members.
