SUMMARY
Perform installation and testing of the instrumentation and electrical components of products using electrical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and knowledge. Also uses interpersonal skills along with solid technical documentation and report writing ability. Responsible for timely and accurate documentation to manage and maintain information to ensure system integrity. A successful candidate is a self-motivated multi-tasker that utilizes a strong work ethic to ensure all quality levels are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.

  • Rigid conduit, cable, wire tray layout, and routing integration.
  • Instrumentation installation, wire terminations, and FAT testing of components.
  • Creates reports related to project labor and materials.
  • Strict adherence to Westerman and customer safety protocols.
  • Communicates accurately, concisely, and professionally.
  • Applies critical thinking, complex problem solving, troubleshooting, and judgment skills.
  • Strong inductive and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in instrumentation or electrical controls or related field required.
  • Use of basic electrical test equipment required.
  • Knowledge of electrical installation technical requirements in hazardous locations required.
  • Experience with ladder diagrams required.
  • Knowledge of fittings, termination, and electrical barriers for instrumentation and devices required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical schematics, P&ID, and basic wiring required.
  • Thorough understanding of multi-step troubleshooting methodology required.
  • Knowledge and competencies in production equipment, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems required.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately analyze data, form accurate conclusions, and establish corrective actions required.
  • Basic safety training required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to entire length of shift.

  • Must be able to see, speak, read, and hear.
  • Must be able to read instructions and all measuring devices.
  • Must use fingers and hands to manipulate tools and small parts.

  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE.
  • Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds.
  • Some aspects of this position may require working in tight quarters.
  • Some aspects of this position may require close vision, depth perception, the ability to see small detail, and the ability to adjust focus.

SALARY

  • Minimum $24/hour – Depends on experience.
