Job Title: Controls TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Controls Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), Controls, or HVAC, and will play a critical role in ensuring our systems are efficient, reliable, and sustainable. This position offers opportunities for growth, particularly within software engineering, as interaction with building automation software is a key component of the role.

Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain building automation systems, ensuring they are functioning efficiently and effectively.

  • Integrate and navigate various building automation systems, including WebCTRL.

  • Conduct point-to-point checkout, commissioning, and shutdown procedures.

  • Utilize advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology, to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.

  • Collaborate effectively within a team to address and solve complex challenges.

Essential Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Building Automation Systems, Controls, or HVAC.

  • Proficient in building automation software and HVAC systems.

  • Understanding of electrical field controls and BMS.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC or Controls.

  • Experience with building automation software such as WebCTRL.

  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networks and wireless technology.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.

  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous challenges across various disciplines.

Work Environment

The position is based at the Switch Data Center in Reno at TRIC. The typical work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Saturday. The role involves collaborating with a diverse team and handling a variety of technical challenges.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reno, NV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
