Actalent in Mokena, IL is seeking a Contract to Hire Electrical Controls Technician to develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic for automated machinery. The role requires reading electrical schematics, performing commissioning at customer sites, and collaborating with teams to ensure successful project execution.

The position involves about 50% overnight travel within the Midwest and occasional trips outside the region.

Travel Requirements

This position involves approximately 50% overnight travel. While there is a fair amount of travel, it is generally not overly demanding, as most trips are within the Midwest and Chicagoland area. However, candidates should be open to occasional travel outside the Midwest, including air travel when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing, modifying, and troubleshooting PLC logic for automated machinery and equipment
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings
• Performing system startup, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting at customer sites
• Assisting with electrical wiring, panel modifications, and field installations
• Diagnosing and resolving controls, electrical, and automation-related issues
• Collaborating with customers and internal teams to ensure successful project execution
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and system upgrades

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mokena, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
