Job summary

Edison Smart® is seeking a hands-on BMS/EPMS Technician to support data center and mission-critical projects across the United States. You will install, checkout, start-up, test, and maintain BMS DDC controllers and EPMS graphics while ensuring system integrity.

You will troubleshoot integrations, work with BACnet and Modbus networks, and produce daily reports and documentation, traveling about 50% of the time to client sites.

Qualifications

• Three years of hands-on automation / controls field experience.
• Practical understanding of BMS, EPMS, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with BACnet, Modbus and system integrations preferred.

The role will focus on the installation checkout, start-up, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS).

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out checkout, start-up and testing of BMS DDC controllers and EPMS graphics.
• Assist with functional testing and integrated systems testing of mechanical, electrical and controls systems.
• Troubleshoot BMS, EPMS and third-party system integrations.
• Work with BACnet, Modbus and computer networking systems.
• Complete MOPs, change management forms, daily reports and project documentation.
• Coordinate with project leads, customers and other contractors on site.

Requirements:

• Three years of hands-on automation / controls field experience, or a relevant two-year degree or apprenticeship with equivalent experience.
• Practical understanding of BMS, EPMS, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with BACnet, Modbus and systems integration is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail and good communication.
• Ability to work independently and support multiple projects.
• Willingness to travel across the US approximately 50% of the time.
