Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an on-site HVAC/Controls technician to commission, program, test, and service on diverse projects. You will document verification, validate sequences, and coordinate closely with customers to ensure project success.

The role requires 3–5 years of HVAC/Controls experience and a valid driver’s license; on-site work includes overtime and occasional overnight stays. Safety and quality are paramount in our field-based operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; typically 3–5 years HVAC/Controls experience.
  • Technical school or formal training preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license for 12+ months with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, communications link, end-to-end testing, troubleshooting and servicing on assigned projects.
  • Document point-to-point verification, sequence of operations validation and job close-out requirements.
  • Represent the company by serving as the direct customer contact and service products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems on site.
  • Coordinate with team leader and customer to understand requirements for on-site installation and repairs, forecasting issues and synchronizing on-site work.
  • Keep current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair of direct digital control systems.
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain accountability of assets; Flexibility to work overtime and overnight stays.

What you will do
  • Responsible for commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, communications link, end to end testing, troubleshooting and servicing on assigned projects
  • Responsible for documenting point to point verification, sequence of operations validation and job close out requirements
  • Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer’s location
  • Coordinates with team leader and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work
  • Keeps current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems
  • Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions
  • Displays team effort and dedication to customers by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays
What you will bring
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required, and typically at least 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls
  • Technical School or formal training is preferred
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Previous experience with DDC controls system preferred
Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range

$40.09 - $54.26

Compensation Type: Hourly
