  • Advanced proficiency in programming and commissioning building automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Controls Technicians, including training, development, and performance guidance.
  • Oversee installation, programming, and commissioning activities to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support for control systems and related equipment, assisting technicians with resolving complex issues.
  • Review and validate system diagnostics, analysis, and commissioning reports to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineers to plan workloads, allocate resources, and meet project timelines.
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for customers, providing expert guidance and ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of system installations, commissioning results, and service activities.
  • Monitor adherence to company standards, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, team efficiency, and project execution.

Job Summary

As a Controls Team Leader at Trane, you will provide leadership, technical direction, and oversight to a team of Controls Technicians who install, program, commission, and service building automation systems. You will coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and customers to ensure high-quality execution, adherence to project requirements, and exceptional system performance. This role requires strong HVAC controls expertise, proven leadership capability, and the ability to guide teams through complex technical challenges while maintaining Trane’s commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
