Job summary

Target Pay Rate: $80,000 - $90,000 annually (depending on experience)

Overview

As a Controls Systems Engineer II, you will play a vital role in designing, integrating, and deploying control systems for CNC lathes and peripheral automation equipment. Required Skills

• 2-4 years of experience with CNC controls and automation
• Proficiency in ladder logic programming and machine language
• Hands-on experience with PLC systems, including Allen Bradley; knowledge of Mitsubishi PLC systems a plus
• Familiarity with Fanuc interfaces and robot programming is advantageous
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and client interactions

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with motion controls and automation equipment
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical integration
• Previous experience in machine control system design and installation

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or related technical field
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience in CNC controls and automation
• Proven track record of managing projects from design through installation and debugging
• Experience working with customer facilities and providing technical support in a fast-paced environment

Other Requirements

• Up to 25% domestic and international travel, including overnight stays
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to acquire a passport
• Work hours typically from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work based on customer needs
• Flexibility to travel once or twice per month, with trips lasting 1-2 weeks
• Ability to work on-site in Charlotte, NC, with some remote work flexibility as needed
