Controls Specialist (Intermediate)

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver assigned tasks, subsystems, or work packages with increasing autonomy and accountability.
- Leverage hands‑on experience to diagnose issues and implement practical, value‑driven solutions.
- Partner closely with senior team members and project leads to deliver results.
- Contribute to planning, design reviews, and delivery discussions with focus on scope, quality, and outcomes.
- Assist with testing, implementation, commissioning, troubleshooting, or deployment activities as relevant.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and, when applicable, customers or external partners.
- Adhere to company standards, processes, and safety or quality requirements.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Post‑secondary degree/diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- 3‑5 years’ experience in the Automation industry as an Engineer or Technologist, technically delivering on projects.
- Proven track record in design, procurement, programming, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems.
- Strong self‑starter with a positive, “can‑do” attitude motivated by solving complex challenges.
- Client‑focused approach with commitment to exceptional client experiences.
- Ability to multi‑task, exercise good judgment and prioritize workload through outstanding organizational skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Willingness to travel within the US and Canada as required.
Desirable
- Experience in Food & Beverage, Automotive, Agriculture or Oil & Gas industry.
- Exceptional leadership skills with ability to engage, motivate and develop a team.
- Experience with platforms/technologies: Rockwell, Siemens PLCs; Rockwell Plant PAX, Aveva InTouch/OMI HMIs; Instrumentation; VFDs and Servos; Network design and implementation.
