Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Controls Systems Technician 1 to commission and calibrate HVAC control systems, troubleshoot basic issues, and support customers on-site. You will load controller software, run diagnostics, and complete required paperwork while upholding safety standards.

A 2-year degree or equivalent experience is expected, with strong communication skills and ability to explain technical information to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

  • 2-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field, or 2+ years of industry experience.
  • HVAC controls systems, facilities management, site preparation knowledge.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for customer interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
  • Loads system-level controller software and performs basic commissioning.
  • Performs system diagnostics from controllers to end devices and completes commissioning documentation.
  • Keeps customers and team informed of progress and issues; documents changes for as-built records.
  • Provides quotes and recommendations to improve facility efficiency.
