Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced field service technician to program, troubleshoot, install, and commission BAS/HVAC controls across chiller plants, boilers, air handlers and VAV systems. You will respond to service calls, perform diagnostics, and update system documentation.

The role requires hands-on experience with HVAC systems, BAS programming, and basic electrical testing. A vocational or associate degree or equivalent 5+ years of field service is preferred.

Qualifications

• HVAC knowledge and hands‑on service experience.
• BAS programming with major vendors (Siemens/Honeywell/Distech/Tridium).
• Strong understanding of HVAC sequences and controls.
• Proficient with basic test equipment and documentation.

What you will do

• Program, troubleshoot, install, and commission BAS/HVAC controls (chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAVs).

• Respond to service and warranty calls using JCI tools and standard electrical testing equipment.

• Provide technical support, recommend repairs/upgrades, and assist with project scopes and retrofits.

• Commission systems, perform diagnostics, calibrate devices, and update documentation.

• Communicate with customers on system needs and provide efficient solutions and quotes.

• Complete admin tasks (time sheets, expenses, service notes) and follow all safety standards.

• Receive ongoing training to grow your expertise with Metasys and BAS systems.

How you will do it

• Load and configure field‑level and network‑level controller software.

• Provide software upgrades and modifications for BAS systems.

• Program energy‑saving sequences and troubleshoot field devices.

• Keep management and customers updated on progress.

What we look for

• Vocational program or associate degree or 5+ years servicing HVAC/electronic/mechanical systems.

• Building Automation System Programming experience - Siemens, Honeywell, Distech, Tridium, etc.

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and sequences.

• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and a multimeter.

• Solid computer skills

• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25 - $30 Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
