Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, seeks a Controls Project Engineer in Nashville, TN to design and program controls software packages using PLCs and HMIs for custom automation projects.

You will examine customer specifications, lead technical projects, provide on-site startup support, and travel up to 25% to sites and other JR locations, ensuring safe, reliable operation and high-quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent).
• 8+ years engineering experience, including 2+ years leading technical projects.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with customers under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Develops and designs controls software packages using PLCs and HMIs.
• Interprets customer specs to ensure equipment meets requirements.
• Starts up and commissions equipment per approved specs.
• Performs preventative maintenance and provides service documentation.
• Travel up to 25% to customer sites and JR locations.
