With a legacy of innovation spanning over 45 years, TAIT has grown from pioneering in rock ‘n’ roll concert staging to setting the global standard for extraordinary live events and experiences through cutting-edge technology, precision engineering, and creative design. TAIT’s 20 global offices have developed iconic productions and experiences in over 30 countries, all seven continents, and even outer space for renowned performers, theme parks, exhibits, and venues across the globe, including partnerships with Taylor Swift, Cirque Du Soleil, Royal Opera House, Nike, NASA, Bloomberg, Google, Beyoncé, and The Olympics.

Position Purpose

The Controls Integrator III is a senior technical professional responsible for leading complex integration scopes and high-profile projects with minimal oversight. Building on the foundation of the T2 and T3 roles, this position represents the transition from technical executor to technical leader — one who drives project outcomes, mentors others, and ensures TAIT’s systems are delivered safely, reliably, and to the highest standard of quality.

Operating at the intersection of technology, art, and leadership, the Controls Integrator III applies deep technical expertise across multiple integration disciplines — including commissioning, programming, diagnostics, and controls systems design — to bring world-class experiences to life.

This role is integral in setting project tone and culture on site, balancing technical precision with proactive communication, safety leadership, and collaboration across teams and departments. The Integrator III plays a pivotal role in defining “how we deliver” — exemplifying technical mastery, decisive leadership, and client confidence in every phase of the project.

Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities (‘What’ the role does)
  • Lead complex or high-risk integration scopes through all project phases (shop testing, FAT, SAT, site commissioning, client handover).
  • Serve as technical authority for controls systems, proactively resolving design or operational issues.
  • Lead commissioning strategy, defining testing protocols, validation standards, and troubleshooting approaches.
  • Translate technical intent into field-ready implementation — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and TAIT standards are upheld.
  • Develop and execute control solutions that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software systems into cohesive platforms.
  • Provide final validation and sign-off on control systems functionality and documentation.
  • Act as the integration lead for one or more projects simultaneously.
  • Own schedule, scope, and quality for assigned integration packages.
  • Work cross-functionally with PMs, MDE, Fab, and Assets teams to ensure alignment and early problem-solving.
  • Lead field coordination meetings, delegating tasks effectively to supporting integrators and local crew.
  • Ensure project risks are communicated early and mitigated effectively through planning and clear communication.
  • Maintain all testing, commissioning, and turnover documentation to company standards.
  • Mentor, train, and review junior and mid-level integrators, providing constructive feedback and skill development support.
  • Champion TAIT’s “Together” value by fostering a collaborative and supportive environment both in the shop and on site.
  • Serve as a technical mentor for at least one area of specialization (e.g., show control programming, PLCs, networking, or commissioning).
  • Actively contribute to internal training content, technical guides, and process documentation.
  • Contribute to and refine TAIT’s integration standards and testing procedures.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline commissioning, documentation, and system validation processes.
  • Actively participate in lessons-learned reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions across teams and projects.
  • Demonstrate initiative in developing and promoting new tools, templates, or methods that improve integration efficiency.
Outcomes
  • Expected time spent at this level is 5+ years.
  • Demonstrates technical mastery across multiple integration disciplines (e.g., show control, PLC programming, motion systems, field networking).
  • Leads high-complexity, high-visibility projects or serves as Controls Lead with minimal oversight.
  • Recognized by peers and leadership as a technical authority and dependable field leader.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for technical decisions, client interaction, and commissioning strategy.
