Job summary

CONVERGIX Automation Solutions is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and build custom robotic automation systems for diverse clients. You will handle electrical design, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to create robust machine controls.

The role involves debugging, on-site client interactions, and delivering high-quality automation solutions. Occasional travel within US and Canada is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Allen Bradley or Siemens PLCs.
• Experience developing PLC programs from scratch.
• Robotic integration experience: Exposure to FANUC, ABB, and/or Kukka.
• Comfortable working with Rockwell and Siemens HMIs.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical drawings.
• Understanding of custom industrial machine design.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel; travel within US and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, program, and build custom robotic automation systems.
• Work on electrical design, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA design and development.
• Interface with Mechanical and Electrical engineering to develop robust and efficient designs.
• Assist electricians in debugging machine wiring.
• Write PLC programs using Convergix/Customer base templates and programming standards.
• Debug powered-on machines to verify that functionality meets customer requirements and Convergix standards of quality.
• Provide status updates and participate in client meetings and field service.
