Job summary

Automationtechies is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, implement, and lead PLC/SCADA projects from concept through startup in fast-paced industrial environments. You will work directly with customers, define specifications, and drive system commissioning to ensure successful startup across semiconductor, pulp & paper, and food & beverage industries.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of controls experience, strong PLC/SCADA skills, and the ability to manage small to mid-sized automation

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5–10 years of controls engineering experience.
• PLC programming with Allen-Bradley and/or GE Fanuc.
• SCADA experience (Cimplicity, Wonderware, or similar).
• Instrumentation, control panel design, and PID tuning expertise.
• Ability to read P&IDs, electrical drawings, and loop sheets.
• Experience leading projects or aiming to grow into PM.
• Strong communication and travel up to 25%.

Overview

Take on a role that combines hands-on controls engineering with technical leadership and project management. This opportunity is ideal for a Controls Engineer ready to take the next step into Project Management. You’ll design and implement industrial control systems while leading projects from concept through startup. Responsibilities include PLC and SCADA programming, control panel and instrumentation design, commissioning, customer interaction, and managing small- to mid-sized automation projects for clients in industries such as semiconductor, pulp & paper, and food & beverage.
