Job summary

City Brewing Company is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and program PLC/HMI software for high‑speed packaging equipment, troubleshoot electrical systems, and optimize manufacturing processes across production and warehousing spaces.

You will mentor Controls Technicians, work with electrical and process controls, and ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and FSMA standards. Flexibility for on‑call and weekend coverage is required.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or 5+ years in PLC controls engineering in lieu of a degree.
Allen‑Bradley PLC and motion controls experience.
RSLogix 500 and Studio 5000 proficiency.
Experience with data acquisition/historian management.
Root cause analysis and continuous improvement experience.

Responsibilities

Designs and programs PLC/HMI software for packaging equipment on Rockwell/Modicon platforms.
Tests and debugs control systems for reliable performance.
Troubleshoots control networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, DH-485, Modbus).
Applies drive experience across platforms.
Creates/updates electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
Trains and mentors automation technicians.
Ensures GMP/HACCP/FSMA compliance.
