Job summary

Anderson Process is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead PLC and HMI software design for automotive and industrial clients across North America. The role requires experience with Rockwell and Siemens, cross-functional collaboration with mechanical and electrical teams, and frequent travel.

The ideal candidate has a technical electrical degree, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while ensuring safety and quality policies are followed.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in an electrical related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication, verbal and written, across the organization.
• Strong analytical ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Able to perceive needs and work independently.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems and their interaction with controls.
• Understanding of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and basic electrical safety procedures.
• Valid driver''s license and ability to be covered by company insurance.
• Ability to travel 25-50% of time.
• Experience with Rockwell and Siemens PLC/HMI is a plus.
• Experience with Mitsubishi and Omron platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand standard electrical hardware drawings.
• Design PLC and HMI software to customer specifications for Rockwell and Siemens platforms.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to create industrial machine control systems.
• Support build teams during all build phases of equipment.
• Configure DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, PROFIBUS, and PROFINET networks.
• Commission and validate systems at customer locations.
• Travel 25-50% to customer sites across North America.
• Adhere to Anderson Process safety and quality policies.
• Work with automotive and non-automotive customers.
