Research and investigate to develop and test new software and applications.
Develop welding methods, techniques, and procedures; study welding patterns.
Update software to assist production personnel in manufacturing per specs.
Evaluate new welding software developments for cost-saving applications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Conducts research and investigations to develop, and test, new software and applications.
Develop new or current welding methods, techniques, and procedures, discover new patterns of welding phenomena, or to correlate and substantiate hypotheses.
Revises software to assist production (Press & Welding) personnel in the manufacture of product, relating to specification restrictions.
Evaluates new developments in the welding field as it relates to software for possible application to current welding problems, production processes or cost savings.
Support maintenance members on emergency downtime situations when required and participate in the training of maintenance personnel.
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for ensuring processes are improved as required and standards are reviewed and followed when applicable.
Performs trouble shooting on existing equipment for programming problems and resolution.
Follows all plant rules regarding Safety and Quality Procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

BS degree in Engineering and/or related field plus a minimum of (3) years experience.
Knowledge of electricity and its dangers.
Meet minimum qualifications as contained in the selection process.
