Job summary

FORTNA is seeking a Controls Engineer to commission conveyor and sortation systems across client sites. You will write and implement machine code, integrate subsystems, and support on-site commissioning with the Controls team.

You’ll use HMI tools such as Wonderware, RSView, FactoryTalk View and Ignition, and develop PLC/HMI programs under senior guidance. Travel up to 40-50% is expected, with emphasis on accurate documentation and system acceptance testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in electrical engineering fields or equivalent.
• PLC programming experience with Rockwell or Siemens environments; HMI programming experience.
• Industrial communication networks experience (EtherNet/IP, Devicenet, Profinet) and low-voltage design.

Responsibilities

• Write and implement machine code, integrate subsystems, and assist in on-site commissioning.
• Utilize HMI tools such as Wonderware, RSView, FactoryTalk View and Ignition.
• Implement PLC and HMI programs under supervision of Sr. Controls Engineers.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and team for design and commissioning phases.
• Review electrical designs and produce accurate as-built drawings for approval.
• Commission complex automated systems and provide site engineering support and testing.
