Job summary

E & E Manufacturing Inc in Athens, TN seeks an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to implement capital tooling, weld automation, and continuous improvement projects. You will program PLCs, develop wiring schematics, and mentor teams across engineering and maintenance.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Engineering with 5+ years in manufacturing, including automation, and strong experience with AB Rockwell, FANUC, and KUKA systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• 5+ years in manufacturing; 3+ years in automation engineering.
• Stamping/assembly experience in auto industry strongly preferred.
• 5+ years with AB Rockwell PLC/HMI, FANUC ArcTool and FANUC SpotTool.
• 5+ years with Kuka KRC 4 controllers; WTC RAFT/DEPs experience is beneficial.
• Strong computer, drawing and schematic interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain PLC based control systems for manufacturing, automation, and instrumentation.
• Program PLC ladder logic from start to finish.
• Lead projects and assist skilled trades in electrical disciplines.
• Generate wiring schematics and control drawings with AutoCAD; maintain plant electrical prints.
• Train and mentor the electrical controls process for engineers, manufacturing and trades colleagues.

Job Description

This position is responsible for all activities related to the implementation of new capital, weld assemblies, tooling fixtures, continuous improvement, and maintenance. Tooling and capital will be implemented in, but not limited to the following areas: MIG, spot and resistance welding, assembly etc. Position may also be required to assist automation and secondary process departments with specific tooling programming needs

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the Company’s mission, vision and values in performance of daily activities
• Maintain PLC based control systems for manufacturing, automation, and instrumentation
• Program PLC ladder logic from start to finish
• Lead projects and assist skilled trades in electrical disciplines
• Support operations in electrical/controls troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities
• Generate wiring schematics and control drawings with AutoCAD, maintain all plant electrical prints
• Work closely with engineering team to define system control needs
• Select industrial control components and assist with MRO crib
• Guide design, develop and test electrical control methods, materials, processes and results
• Train, coach, and mentor the electrical controls process for controls engineers, manufacturing and skilled trades colleagues

Education and Experience

To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in a relevant field of study, required

Experience

• Five (5) or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Three (3) or more years of experience in automation engineering, assembly or related field
• Stamping and Assembly manufacturing experience in the auto industry strongly preferred
• Five (5) or more years of experience working with all A-B Rockwell PLC/HMI family of products
• Five (5) or more years of experience working with FANUC ArcTool
• Five (5) or more years of experience working with FANUC SpotTool
• Five (5) or more years of experience working with Kuka KRC 4 controllers would preferable
• Three (3) or more years of experience working with WTC (RAFT) an DEPs

• Applicant must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience in AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent design programs a plus
