Job summary

JTEKT North America is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Controls for our Morristown, TN plant. The role focuses on electrical support for production equipment, ensuring new systems meet specifications and providing troubleshooting for existing lines.

Key tasks include programming, documentation, and participation in Kaizen teams; travel may be involved for run-offs and enhancements within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• BSEE or BA in Electrical/Electronics with 3–5 years of experience in a related role.
• Experience troubleshooting equipment in high-volume manufacturing.
• Robotics programming and troubleshooting experience.
• PLC programming experience.
• Lot Traceability and equipment fault networking/programming.
• Basic CNC programming experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide complex engineering services for manufacturing and maintenance.
• Support JATM philosophy and policy.
• Plan and schedule work and projects.
• Perform programming changes as assigned.
• Administer process changes in engineering documents.
• Maintain PLC/HMI/Vision/DMC/Robot programs, backups for equipment.
• Analyze process/equipment problems for long-term solutions.
• Prepare detailed electrical specifications for new equipment.
• Write PLC/HMI/Vision/DMC/Robot programming for new equipment.
• Participate in run-off and grooming activities.
• Assess spare part problems and implement changes.
• Participate in Kaizen teams.
• Continuously improve assigned area processes.
• Maintain data in backup system for equipment.
