Confidential Beverage Manufacturer in the Indianapolis area seeks a Controls Engineer for third shift to design, program, troubleshoot, and improve PLC-based controls across multiple facilities.

Responsibilities include developing control strategies, maintaining documentation, and coaching site teams while collaborating with engineering and operations to boost reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two to four years of related experience.
• Strong PLC programming, motion control, and automation expertise.
• Ability to develop control solutions and troubleshoot complex equipment.
• Analytical, planning, organization, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 50–70% and work third shift.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement control strategies for automated production equipment.
• Program, troubleshoot, test, and repair PLC-based controls and motion systems.
• Support control design for new equipment and upgrades.
• Establish programming standards and controls documentation.
• Evaluate automation solutions to improve performance and reliability.
• Partner with engineering, maintenance, and operations to resolve issues.
• Provide technical direction and training to site controls teams.
• Explain technical recommendations to plant teams and leadership.
• Stay current with automation technology and tools.
