Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate need for a Controls Engineer 3 for a long-term contract in Redford, MI. The role is onsite with a Sunday-Thursday overnight shift (10 PM - 6 AM). You will support PLC, automation systems, and robotics in a high‑volume automotive setting.

Required are 5-7 years of controls experience, strong Siemens PLC expertise (Step 7 / TIA Portal), and hands-on troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. Automotive industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
• 5-7 years of controls engineering, industrial automation, or manufacturing experience.
• Strong Siemens PLC experience, preferably Step 7 / TIA Portal.
• Hands-on troubleshooting in a manufacturing/plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for PLC, controls logic, NC/CNC, and HMI systems.
• Program and troubleshoot Siemens PLCs, including Step 7 and TIA Portal.
• Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues to minimize downtime.
• Support and modify KUKA and FANUC robots, gantries, and automated equipment.
• Read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Configure sensors, actuators, and industrial control devices.
• Provide technical support to maintenance and production teams.
• Complete shift handoff and end-of-shift documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shift: Sunday-Thursday overnight shift, 10 PM - 6 AM
• Provide hands‑on support for PLC, controls logic, NC/CNC, and HMI systems.
• Program and troubleshoot Siemens PLCs, including Step 7 and TIA Portal.
• Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues to minimize production downtime.
• Support and modify KUKA and FANUC robots, gantries, and automated equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Configure and troubleshoot sensors, actuators, and industrial control devices.
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.

• Hands‑on experience in a manufacturing/plant/shop‑floor environment.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, automated equipment, and industrial controls.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and work independently.
