Job summary

W3Global in North Carolina seeks a Controls Engineer for a full-time, on-site role in Randleman. You will design, program, and commission factory automation systems with a focus on Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs, FANUC robotics, HMIs, and motion control.

You will develop control architectures, create electrical schematics, configure hardware, test systems for safe operation, and provide technical support throughout installation and startup, working closely with project teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience programming Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs, including development and commissioning.
• Experience programming and integrating FANUC robots for automated systems.
• Working knowledge of HMIs, motion control, industrial networks, and safety systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and collaborate with electrical/mechanical teams.
• Strong troubleshooting for electrical/PLC/robot/system integration issues.
• Bachelor's degree or hands-on equivalent in Electrical/Controls/Mechatronics.
• Strong communication skills and customer-facing installation experience.

Role Description

The Controls Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Randleman, NC. This role focuses on designing, programming, and commissioning factory automation systems, with an emphasis on Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs, FANUC robotics, HMIs, motion control, and industrial networks. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing control architectures, creating electrical schematics, configuring hardware, programming and integrating automation equipment, and testing systems for safe and reliable operation. The Controls Engineer works closely with project teams and customers during design, installation, troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning, while also providing documentation and ongoing technical support.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience programming Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs, including development, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Experience programming and integrating FANUC industrial robots for automated machinery and production systems.
• Working knowledge of HMIs, motion control, industrial networks, safety systems, and machine-level automation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing electrical, PLC, robot, and system integration issues.
• Ability to read and develop electrical schematics and work closely with electrical and mechanical teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers during installation, startup, and commissioning.
• Experience with factory automation or system integration is strongly preferred.
