Job summary

Syensqo in the United States is seeking a process control engineer to maintain and improve plant control systems, interfaces, and networks. You will support a continuous operation, identify improvements, and participate in migration projects.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering and extensive experience with Honeywell, Rockwell, and Siemens control platforms, drives, and HMIs. Strong teamwork and cross‑site communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• Experience with Honeywell Experion DCS; TDC-3000/TPS a plus.
• Strong PID tuning and control loop experience.
• Experience with Ethernet networking and OPC server configuration.
• Advanced PLC experience with Rockwell ControlLogix and Siemens S7.
• Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi drives.
• Experience with FactoryTalk RSView and Siemens WinCC HMI configuration.
• Working knowledge of DeviceNet, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP/IP.
• Experience with project justification, planning, and budgeting in manufacturing.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modify existing process control systems, including operator interfaces, controller/network hardware, configuration, and communications infrastructure.
• Provide troubleshooting and process control support for a continuously operating plant.
• Identify and install new applications and interfaces to increase the safety, quality, and profitability of plant processes.
• Actively participate in control system migration projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Heavy experience with Honeywell Experion DCS; experience with Honeywell TDC-3000/TPS system a plus.
• Experience with PID controllers, including cascade, feed-forward, and split-range configurations.
• Ability to tune PID loops for pressure, temperature, speed, and other control loops.
• Experience with Ethernet networking, network switches/servers configuration, Microsoft domain management, and OPC server configuration.
• Advanced PLC experience with Rockwell Controllogix and Siemens S7.
• Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi drives.
• Experience with Factorytalk, RSView, and Siemens winCC HMI configuration.
• Working experience with DeviceNet, Profibus, ProfiNet, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus TCP/IP.
• Experience with engineering project justification, planning, and execution in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with capital project budgeting, manpower estimation, contract management, and proposal development.
• Ability to review vendor network, control panel, and electrical schematic drawings and provide feedback.
• Ability to communicate and interact with all organizational levels, including managers and overseas colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 5 years of industry experience supporting plant operations as a process control engineer (applications or systems engineering).
• Knowledge of statistical process controls, Lean, and continuous improvement methods.
• Knowledge of chemical process and polymerization technologies or refinery processing technologies.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Perform successfully in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment, with duties changing frequently.

• See and inspect product quality to meet standards.
