Job summary

Shermco in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead design and integration of control systems for power and process applications. You will work with PLC/HMI implementations, network architecture, and startup/commissioning across the continental US, collaborating with customers and teams.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, has 4+ years in control systems, and can travel at least 40%.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in control systems and startup/commissioning.
• Experience with pipeline and/or oil and gas processing a plus.
• Must have experience with low and medium voltage controls.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in English, verbal and written.

• Network Architecture
• Cause and Effect Diagram
• Control Philosophy
• SCADA Maps
• Programming of control system using PLC and HMI software tools.
• Startup/Commissioning of control system (within continental US).

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Should be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam when required

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
